Australian Open

Aryna Sabalenka defended her 2023 Australian Open title. She prevailed over Qinwen Zheng to win the trophy with a 6-3, 6-2 win in just 76 minutes. Cincinnati Open

Replicating her Australian Open performance in January, Sabalenka took home the Cincinnati Open title without dropping a set. She defeated Swiatek and Jessica Pegula for her second trophy of the year. By defeating Swiatek in the semis, Sabalenka made up for the loss at the Madrid Open, when she was on match point against the Pole.  Cincinnati was Sabalenka’s sixth WTA 1000 title, making her the third among active players to win more than five crowns in the format. Swiatek and Azarenka have10 such titles each.

US Open

Aryna Sabalenka won her maiden US Open title in 2024. She had lost the US Open final to  Coco Gauff in 2023. Sabalenka prevailed over American Jessica Pegula  7-5, 7-5, in 1 hour and 53 minutes to bag her third Grand Slam title in singles. She had earlier defeated the home favorite a week before in Cincinnati.

Wuhan Open

Aryna Sabalenka entered the Wuhan Open tournament to win a hat-trick of the title. She claimed the 2018 and 2019 titles at the venue. She registered victory over home favourite Qinwen Zheng 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 to maintain her 4-0 head-to-head win streak against the World No. 7 from China who she had faced in the Australian Open final as well.

Sabalenka had previously held the World No.1 spot for eight weeks last year before being overtaken by Swiatek.

The Finals, set to take place from November 2 to 9, offer 1,500 points, making the competition between the two players for the No.1 spot even more intense.
