Harshit Rana Hilariously Pleads with Bumrah BGT

Harshit Rana made his first appearance in Test cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. This match was held in Perth. The young fast bowler got a chance to play for India. He played alongside top players like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Harshit quickly caught attention with his bowling, especially in the first innings.

A Great Start for Harshit Rana

Rana helped India bowl out Australia for just 104 runs. His first Test wicket was Travis Head. Head had troubled India in past games. After taking Head’s wicket, Harshit also dismissed two tailenders, Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. He ended the first innings with 3 wickets for 48 runs.

Hard Times in the Second Innings

The second innings was harder for Harshit Rana. In his first 10 overs, he couldn’t take any wickets. He also gave away many runs, with an economy rate of 5.7. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head attacked his bowling, making things tough for him.

The Funny DRS Moment

One of the funniest moments of the match happened in Australia’s second innings. Harshit Rana thought he had trapped Steve Smith in front of the stumps. He asked captain Jasprit Bumrah to go for a DRS (Decision Review System). Harshit said, “Kasam se bohot saamne laga hai” (I swear it hit him in front of the stumps). His innocent words made everyone smile. Bumrah agreed to take the review. Sadly, the ball had missed the stumps, and Smith was declared not out.
