ICC Champions Trophy 2025: 7 players who ruled out of Champions Trophy 2025
Sam Ayub
Pakistan cricket team’s young star player Sam Ayub will not play in the ICC Champions Trophy. Sam was raining runs for Pakistan before getting injured, but his knee got twisted while fielding on the South Africa tour. Due to this, he had to stay away from the field for 6 weeks. However, it will take a long time for him to recover as he is going to undergo surgery. This is the reason why he will not participate in the Champions Trophy for Pakistan, which has dealt a big blow to the host.
Jasprit Bumrah
Indian cricket team’s star player Jasprit Bumrah is also doubtful to play in the ICC Champions Trophy. Bumrah suffered a back injury during the Australia tour. Due to this, he is also not playing in the home ODI series against England. Although he was included in the team for the last ODI of the series, the BCCI did not include Bumrah’s name in its updated team.
In such a situation, BCCI believed even if he just recovered from the injury, it would be difficult for him to play in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and it has been officially announced now that Bumrah is not part of India’s squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. In this situation, the absence of Jasprit Bumrah can increase the problems of Team India.
Josh Hazlewood
Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has also been included in this list. Hazlewood is also included in Australia’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, but the team coach has clearly said that a decision will be taken on Hazlewood after his medical report comes. Hazlewood got injured in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, and after the all-ICC Champions Trophy squad list, it’s confirmed that he is not part of this Champions Trophy.
Mitchell Marsh
The team’s dashing all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is out of the tournament. Mitchell Marsh has not recovered from his back injury and the physio has asked him to stay away from cricket for the time being. This is the reason why Mitchell Marsh will no longer be available for Australia in this cricket tournament.
Pat Cummins
Apart from Mitchell Marsh, Pat Cummins was also injured in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. He has not recovered from his ankle injury. Due to this, he was not part of the Test series on the Sri Lanka tour. Along with this, Australia’s coach Andrew McDonald has said that Cummins’ injury has not completely healed and his chances of playing in the Champions Trophy are very low. And after the ICC Champions Trophy final squads, it’s confirmed that he is not gonna play in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Gerald Coetzee
South Africa’s veteran fast bowler Gerald Coetzee also has to miss the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 due to back stiffness and hamstring injury. His name is not on the list of South Africa’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
Anrich Nortje
South Africa’s experienced fast bowler Anrich also ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The reason behind this is he still struggles with his back injury.
