India chased down the total comfortably, with Virat Kohli scoring a century. This win helped India qualify for the next stage of the tournament.

Javed Miandad Slammed The Performance Of The Pakistan Cricket Team

For the Pakistan cricket team, it is a matter of huge embarrassment as they entered the tournament as the defending champions, but they were not able to progress past the group stages in their first ICC tournament at home in 29 years. If reports are to be believed, then the Pakistan Cricket Board is all set to sack Aaqib Javed, their coach, after the embarrassing exit from the tournament. Notably, it has been just 3 months since Aaqib joined the force. The loss against the Indian cricket team brought criticism from all corners for the Pakistan cricket team.

Javed Miandad was quoted by the PTI saying: “(It is) useless blaming the system, selectors and all that. The question is, are these selected players short on anything? Does not the PCB take care of them? Are they not paid enough? So where is the passion and fire and professionalism to perform in big matches and tournaments?”

He added, “Truth is, our players were under pressure even before the match began. Look at their body language, not one of them appeared to be in a mood to dominate Indian bowlers.”

Shoaib Akhtar Slammed Babar Azam With Virat Kohli’s Example

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also slammed Babar Azam for his disastrous performance. He came down hard on Babar Azam, giving the example of Virat Kohli. He said:

“Let’s try to sum up Virat Kohli a little bit. Now tell me, who is the hero of Virat Kohli? Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 centuries, and Virat is chasing his legacy,” Akhtar said on PTV Sports.

Who is Babar Azam’s hero? Tuk tuk (Without naming any cricketer). You have picked the wrong heroes. Your thought process is wrong. You were a fraud from the beginning. You were caught from the beginning. You made it clear in the ICC Champions Trophy itself that ‘I have become No. 1 for one and half days. You are no No. 1. You promoted the wrong people.”
