Champions Trophy 2025 Prize Money Breakdown: What’s at Stake for the Semi-Finalists
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has set aside a total prize pool of $6.9 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy, marking a 53% increase from the 2017 tournament. The winning team will receive a generous $2.24 million (around Rs 19.5 crore), while the runners-up will get $1.12 million (about Rs 9.78 crore).
Even the teams that lose in the semi-finals will be well-rewarded, with each receiving $560,000 (around Rs 4.89 crore) as prize money from the ICC.
The ICC Champions Trophy is being held after an eight-year break, with the last edition taking place in 2017. On that occasion, Pakistan won, defeating India in the final. However, this time, despite being the official host, Pakistan did not make it past the group stage.
The tournament started with two groups: Group A had India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B included Australia, South Africa, England, and Afghanistan. After the group stage, India and New Zealand advanced from Group A, while South Africa and Australia secured spots in the semi-finals from Group B.
