Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2025 Final Showdown: Iran vs India

Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship is ongoing as the tournament started on 6 March, and the final match is set to take place on 8 March 2025. The tournament is being played in Tehran, the Iranian capital, which is hosting the tournament for the second time. A total of nine teams participated in the event, which were further divided into two groups, Group A and Group B. In the semi-final matches that took place yesterday, Iran defeated, and India beat Nepal to secure their positions in the final.

Team India is the defending champion of the titles, having won the last edition that took place in 2017. India is also the most successful team in the Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship, having won the tournament four times out of five.

This match will specifically be thrilling to watch because India won the previous edition while Iran finished in the third position with Sri Lanka in 2017. This year, Iran will look for a revenge win while India tries to continue their winning streak.

The Indian team is led by Sonali Vishnu Shingate, who is making a comeback into the team. She is known for her sensational performance in the Senior National Women’s Kabaddi Championship, leading the Indian Railways to the title. India will face strong competition from Iran, who has also performed well in the tournament. Until now, both India and Iran haven’t lost a single match in the tournament, and this will be the first loss for the defeated team. India advanced to the finals by defeating Nepal in the semi-finals while Iran defeated Bangladesh by 41-18 to reach the finals.

Both teams are set to face each other on 8 March for the final of Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship, and the game will be a crucial test for both teams. Iran will make history if they manage to pull off a victory in the tournament as the sport is highly male-dominated in the country.
