The All England Open is the oldest badminton tournament in the world, first held in 1899. It’s one of the most prestigious events in the sport, and it is a Super 1000 event that attracts top players from across the globe. The 2025 season started on 11 March, and the finals are set to be held on 16 March 2025. The tournament is being held at the Utilita Arena Birmingham, England.

The All England Open offers a massive prize pool of $1,450,000, marking an increase of a whopping amount of $150,000 as compared to the last season. This year’s season featured a number of badminton champions, including Jonatan Christie and An Se-Young. As we move closer to the finals, let’s take a look at the finalists of all the categories.

Shi Yuqi, the reigning World Number 1 badminton champion, defeated Li Shi Feng in the semi-finals to secure his spot in the finals, while Lee Chia-Hao defeated the recent Orleans Masters champion, Alex Lanier. Both players will go head-to-head in today’s final match to claim their title in the men’s singles category.

In women’s singles, An Se-Young emerged victorious in the semi-finals after defeating Yamaguchi, which isn’t surprising as all since she has won three titles this year and recently won the Orleans Masters. She will be facing Wang Zhi Yi in the finals to try and defend her title of the All England Open. The tournament also features three doubles categories, so here is the full list of finalists for all five categories.
