The Kabaddi World Cup 2025 gets underway in England from March 17 (Monday) under the banner of World Kabaddi. Competitions will be held in both men’s and women’s categories.
The 2025 edition of the Kabaddi World Cup is significant as the event is being held outside Asia for the first time. The tournaments will be staged in Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall and Wolverhampton – in the West Midlands region of the United Kingdom.
This is the second edition of the Kabaddi World Cup being hosted by World Kabaddi. At the inaugural edition hosted by Malaysia in 2019.
India are the defending Kabaddi World Cup champions in both men’s and women’s competition.

Kabaddi World Cup 2025: Format
The men’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 will have 10 teams in contention. They are split into two groups comprising five teams each.
After single-headed round robin matches, the top four kabaddi teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals and so on.
Meanwhile, the women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 is a six-team affair. The tournaments start with two groups – D and E.
The top two kabaddi teams from each group will make it to the semi-finals scheduled on March 22.
Losing semi-finalists at the Kabaddi World Cup 2025, both in the men’s and women’s tournaments, will play in the third-placed playoffs.
