CSK vs RCB, IPL 2025: Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has been very energetic and excited in the current intense match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025.
Virat Kohli’s Heated Moment with Rahul Tripathi
Virat Kohli lost his cool after Chennai Super Kings’ opener Rahul Tripathi was dismissed, and he was given an aggressive send-off at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Tripathi, bought by CSK for INR 3.40 crore in the IPL 2025 auction, had a poor start, scoring just 2 runs in the opening match against Mumbai Indians. Despite this, he was backed to open again against RCB but failed once more.

On the second ball of the second over, Josh Hazlewood bowled a 136.1 km/h bouncer to Rahul Tripathi. Tripathi was late on his pull shot, and the ball hit high on the bat, going straight to Phil Salt at midwicket for a catch.
As Rahul Tripathi walked back to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs off 3 balls, including one four, Virat Kohli was seen giving him a heated send-off, saying, “B***chd Nikal.”

Overall, Rahul Tripathi has faced Josh Hazlewood three times in the IPL, scoring only 15 runs and getting out twice.
After Tripathi’s dismissal, Ruturaj Gaikwad came in to bat at No.3 but was dismissed for a duck off just 4 balls by Hazlewood in the same over.
Ahead of the CSK vs RCB match, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra discussed the CSK management’s decision to let Rahul Tripathi open the innings. He also speculated that Tripathi was paired with Rachin Ravindra for the opening spot. He said:
“What will be the things in focus from Chennai’s perspective? My first question is whether Rahul Tripathi will still open because Chennai surprised us a little in the last match. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra were supposed to come. We were expecting that ‘RR’ combination, but Rahul Tripathi came, and that surprised everyone.”
“However, was that a one-game philosophy, or will that continue for many games in this tournament because Chennai don’t change the goalpost very quickly? If they have thought about a pairing or their overseas players, they tend to stay with them for a little longer. Could that be a reason for them to retain Rahul Tripathi so that Ruturaj Gaikwad bats slightly deeper at No. 3 and Rachin bats till the end if Rutu gets out?”
