The PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025 is one of the most anticipated esports tournaments of the year. Scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 3, this thrilling event will bring together 24 of the best teams from around the world to battle for the prestigious title and a massive $3 million prize pool. The tournament will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Esports World Cup 2025.

Tournament Format

PMWC 2025 will be played in three key stages:

  • Group Stage – The 24 teams will compete for three days, and the top eight teams will qualify directly for the Grand Finals.
  • Survival Stage – The bottom 16 teams from the Group Stage will get another chance to prove themselves. From here, the top eight will move forward to the Grand Finals.
  • Grand Finals – The final showdown between the 16 best teams to determine the ultimate champion of PMWC 2025.

Previous Champions

The first-ever PMWC was held in 2024, where Alpha7 Esports from Brazil claimed the trophy. The prize pool for that edition was also $3 million.

Slot Distribution for PMWC 2025

A total of 24 teams will compete in PMWC 2025, and they will be selected through regional leagues and special invites. Here’s the breakdown:

  • PMSL SEA S2 Ranking – 3 teams
  • PMCL SEA Wildcard S2 Ranking – 1 team
  • PMSL CSA S1 Ranking – 3 teams
  • PMSL Europe S1 Ranking – 3 teams
  • PMSL MEA S1 Ranking – 3 teams
  • PMSL Americas S1 Ranking – 3 teams

Special Invitations:

  • South Korea – 1 team
  • Japan – 1 team
  • Korea vs Japan Rivals Cup Winner – 1 team
  • PEL China – 2 teams
  • Host Country Invite (PMNC KSA) – 1 team
  • PMGO Champion’s Region – 1 team
  • Special Invite – 1 team

How Teams Qualify for PMWC 2025

The selection process is highly competitive, with teams qualifying through PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) events across different regions. The top three teams from SEA, CSA, Europe, MENA, and Americas will earn a direct spot in the PMWC. Additionally, individual teams from Japan and Korea will qualify, along with the winner of the Rivals Cup between Korea and Japan.

Moreover, two teams from PEL China will secure their place in the tournament. Saudi Arabia, as the host country, will also have one team representing it through the PMNC KSA event.

PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2025 Impact

The PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) 2025 is currently taking place in Uzbekistan. The Main Event, scheduled for April 12 and 13, will see teams from around the world competing for the first international title of the year. The winning team’s region will be rewarded with an extra slot in PMWC 2025, adding more excitement to the qualification process.
