Delhi Capitals (DC) lost to Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in their last match. While chasing 206, DC was in a strong position with Karun Nair scoring a quick fifty. They were 119/1 in the 11th over but suddenly collapsed and got all out for 193.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) also had a tough loss, getting beaten by Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 9 wickets. RR scored 173/4 while batting first, with Yashasvi Jaiswal making 75 runs. But their bowlers couldn’t defend the total, as RCB chased it down easily in under 18 overs with just one wicket lost.RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Speaking after winning the toss, Samson said: “We’ll bowl first, looks like a good wicket. Gets better in the second half. The results and match conditions have been different, but we are still early in the tournament so we want to bowl first and get an advantage. Same team.”
On the other hand, DC captain Axar Patel, before the match against RR, said: “Would have bowled as well. There will be dew perhaps in the second innings, but now we are ready to bat first and put up a big score. Need to look past the last game, but it is a learning experience. We discussed in the team meetings how we could have finished the game, we perhaps got too casual in the middle phase. Same team for us as well.”
