The Diamond League 2025 series will kick off in Xiamen, People’s Republic of China, on Saturday, 26 April.
The one-day meet will bring together top international athletes in track and field. World record holders Mondo Duplantis, Ukraine’s high jump world champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Kenya’s distance runners Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet are among eight Olympic gold medallists from the Paris 2024 Games who will compete at the Diamond League in Xiamen.
Other big names for the first stop of the 2025 series include Jamaican sprint star Shericka Jackson in the women’s 200m, along with a star-studded men’s 200m field led by Olympic gold medallist Letsile Tebogo, the season’s fastest man Akani Simbine, and world indoor champion Jeremiah Azu.
Kenya’s double Olympic gold medallist Beatrice Chebet will aim to start her season with a bang in the women’s 5000m, an event where she also holds the world record. Paris 2024 gold medallist Valerie Allman in the women’s discus and Soufiane El Bakkali, one of the best men’s steeplechasers in the world, will feature in the Diamond League Xiamen.
