Superbet Poland Rapid and Blitz 2025 is the fourth edition of Poland’s premier chess tournament and attracts some of the world’s top grandmasters. It is being held at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. It’s regarded as one of the biggest and most important chess events in the world.
The 2025 edition started on 26 April and will conclude on 30 April 2025 with a total of 10 participants. The total prize pool of the event is $175,000 and includes some of the biggest names in the chess world, like Praggnanandhaa R. and Alireza Firouzja.

The tournament is the first stage of the 2025 Grand Chess Tour 2025. This year celebrates the 10th anniversary of the tournament, and the season comprises five events, three rapid and blitz tournaments, and two classical tournaments.

The Superbet Poland Rapid and Blitz 2025 features two formats, each with its own format and time controls. The rapid format offers nine rounds, and time control is 25 minutes per player for the entire game, with a 10-second increment added after each move. Meanwhile, the blitz format offers 18 rounds, with 5 minutes per player for the entire game, with a 2-second increment after move one.
