Finally, the wait is over. Savvy Games Group has announced the full format of Dota 2 Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025. Now we know when and how the world’s best Dota 2 teams will clash with each other.
If you are also a Dota fan, then you should not miss this event. Everything here is given simple terms, which will give you a clear idea about the event.
When will the Dota 2 World Cup 2025 happen?
- Start Date: 8 July 2025
- End Date: 19 July 2025
16 top teams will play in this tournament, and the total prize money will be $3 million. Such a big event doesn’t happen every year, so it’s going to be huge.
What will be the match format?
- 16 teams will be divided into 4 groups.
- Each group will have 4 teams, which will play matches in round-robin format.
- The top team of each group will go straight to the playoffs.
- The remaining teams will go to the Gauntlet Bracket, from where 4 more teams will qualify for the playoffs.
- A total of 8 teams will play the playoffs, where there will be a single-elimination system. Every match will be a win or lose game.
Rewards and Extra Prize Money
- Total Prize Pool: $3 million
- MVP Player: Extra $10,000
- Club Championship Winner: $7 million reward
Apart from this, some teams will get entry into EWC Partner Program, where they will get six-figure base funding + extra revenue from campaigns and events. This program will be for 40 selected teams.

- 1–3 June 2025
- Winners of every region will go directly to the World Cup.
- Open Qualifiers:
- 3–4 June 2025
- Top teams will go to Closed Qualifiers.

- MESWA & SEA: 8–10 June
- EEU & SA: 11–13 June
