The star Mumbai Indians batter achieved this record during the IPL 2025 Eliminator match against Gujarat Titans at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.

After MI captain Hardik Pandya chose to bat first, Rohit Sharma had a shaky start and was dropped twice early on. But he bounced back strongly and scored a brilliant fifty.

Rohit now has the second-most sixes in IPL history, behind Chris Gayle (357). Virat Kohli is third with 291 sixes.

Rohit Crosses 7000 Runs in IPL – Only Second After Virat Kohli

During his innings, Rohit made history by hitting his 300th IPL six in the 9th over off Rashid Khan. With that shot, he also crossed 7000 IPL runs, becoming only the second player after Virat Kohli to do so.

Rohit Sharma gave Mumbai Indians a strong start in the Eliminator, scoring 81 runs from 50 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes before being dismissed by Prasidh Krishna.

His innings set the platform for a big total, and now it’s up to the middle order to finish the job. At the time of writing, Mumbai Indians were 195/4 in the 18th over, with Naman Dhir and captain Hardik Pandya at the crease.
