Ee Sala Cup N̶a̶m̶d̶e̶ Namdu… forget the memes and jokes – this is real! After 18 long years, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are finally IPL champions. They defended a total of 190 runs against a strong Punjab Kings side to end their long and painful wait for a first IPL title.

The Wait Is Over: RCB Are IPL Champions at Last

Krunal Pandya played a key role, taking 2 wickets for just 17 runs in his 4 overs, putting pressure on the Punjab batters. This win also meant a lot for Virat Kohli. Already a winner of the World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy, he can now proudly add an IPL trophy to his collection.

On June 4, 2025, Kohli will finally wake up as an IPL champion.

At a ground where chasing 200 is usually easy, RCB pulled off a brilliant effort by defending just 190. Punjab Kings started strong with openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, making the target look simple. But once RCB brought in the spinners, the game turned.

From 72 for 1 in the 9th over, PBKS collapsed to 98 for 4 in no time. Krunal Pandya led the fightback with key wickets and tight bowling. Shashank Singh scored a late fifty, but it wasn’t enough as Punjab finished on 184, falling short by 6 runs.

RCB’s bowlers held their nerve. Krunal’s breakthroughs, including Inglis and Prabhsimran, shifted the momentum. Shepherd and Bhuvneshwar chipped in with crucial wickets. When Nehal Wadhera and Marcus Stoinis were dismissed in the 17th over, the match was as good as sealed.
