The Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2025 marks the seventh edition of this premier annual international tournament. It brings together the top men’s national teams from around the globe. This year’s competition is notable for its new format, increased competition, and high stakes as teams battle for international glory and significant prize money.
Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2025 Key Details
The Men’s Volleyball Nations League started on 11 June and will end on 3 August. A total of 18 national teams will compete, that’s two more than the previous edition. Each team plays 12 matches in the pool stage, spread across three weeks. The top eight teams advance to the knockout finals, with China guaranteed a final berth as host.
Ukraine joins the tournament for the first time while France returns as the defending champions.
Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2025 New Format
For the first time in the Men’s Volleyball Nations League, it features 18 teams per gender. Teams are divided into nine pools across three weeks, each of which will play four matches per week, for a total of 12 matches. The pool phase ends on 20 July.
The top eight teams qualify for the knockout stage, held in China, from 30 July to 3 August. The Men’s Volleyball Nations League 2025 final follows a direct elimination format, which includes quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal matches.
