3 Min Read

The 2025 IFSC Sport Climbing World Cup is underway in Innsbruck, Austria from 25-29 June. World’s best climbers are battling for crucial world cup points in a show of strength, speed and agility.

Women competitors are set for the challenge in Innsbruck with intense battle in the offing. In the discipline of Boulder, scheduled on June 27, a triangular contest is expected between France’s Oriane Bertone, Japan’s Nakamura Mao and Team USA’s Annie Sanders.

Bertone leads the world cup standings heading into the final Boulder competition of the season, maintaining a 635 point lead over Nakamura, and a 775 point lead over Sanders. Her lead is far for her rivals to catch up.

Nakamura will be chasing her second world cup victory of the season and a maiden world cup title. However, the Japanese will be challenged by 17-year-old Sanders who finished second at the last world cup stop in Bern.

Another climber to watch out for in women’s Boulder is Slovenia’s Janja Garnbret, two-time Olympic champion.

In the lead’s discipline, Great Britain’s Erin McNeice and the Republic of Korea’s Seo Chaehyun will lock horns in another mouth-watering clash. Both jointly won the season’s first world cup

Italy’s Laura Rogora and Australia’s Oceania Mackenzie are other women climbers to keep an eye on.

The 2025 IFSC Climbing World Cup is the 37th edition of the international competition climbing series held in 14 locations.
