Level Infinite and Krafton have officially revealed the format for the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2025 on the final day of the PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC) 2025. This prestigious annual event will take place in Thailand during November and December 2025.
A total of 39 teams from around the world will compete for the ultimate title and a share of the $3 million prize pool.
Rondo Replaces Sanhok in PMGC 2025
One of the biggest announcements was the replacement of the Sanhok map with Rondo in all official PUBG Mobile esports events, including PMGC 2025. This change will also apply to the upcoming PMSL Fall events.
Rondo, introduced earlier this year, is set to bring a fresh competitive experience to players and fans alike.
A New Format for PMGC 2025
The sixth edition of PMGC will feature a brand-new structure, making it more competitive than ever.
Here’s how the tournament will work:
Gauntlet Stage
- 16 teams from regional events will compete over three days.
- Top 6 teams will qualify directly for the Grand Finals.
- The bottom 10 teams will proceed to the next stage.
Group Stage
- A total of 32 teams will participate, including 22 from regional events and 10 from the Gauntlet.
- They will be divided into two groups.
- The top 4 teams from each group will move to the Grand Finals.
- Teams ranked 5th to 12th will head to the Last Chance stage.
- The bottom 4 teams will be eliminated.
Last Chance Stage
- 16 teams from the Group Stage will battle for one final Grand Finals spot.
- Only the top team advances, while the other 15 teams are eliminated.
Grand Finals
The Grand Finals will bring together 16 teams:
- 6 from the Gauntlet
- 8 from the Group Stage
- 1 from the Last Chance
- 1 invited team from host nation Thailand
