First-Ever Indian Medal in Open Men’s Category: Ramesh Budihal has etched his name in Indian sporting history by becoming the first-ever Indian to win a medal at the Asian Surfing Championships in the Open Men’s category.

He finished behind Korea’s Kanoa Heejae, who won gold with an outstanding 15.17 points, and Indonesia’s Pajar Ariyana, who secured silver with 14.57 points. Budihal also became the first Indian to reach the medal round in the event, making his achievement even more remarkable.

Japan Leads the Way in the Open Women’s Category:

In the Open Women’s category, Japan’s Anri Matsuno struck gold after a close battle with her compatriot Sumomo Sato. Matsuno posted 14.90 points, while Sato finished with 13.70 points to take silver. Thailand’s Isabel Higgs claimed bronze with a score of 11.76 points.

Double Gold for Kanoa Heejae:

It was a day to remember for Kanoa Heejae, who added to his men’s gold by winning the Under-18 boys’ title as well. He scored 14.33 points for his second gold of the day. China’s Shidong Wu took silver with 13.10 points, while Shulou Jiang secured bronze on 8 points.

China Dominates Girls’ Under-18:

The Girls’ Under-18 category was dominated by China’s Siqi Yang, who put on a commanding display to win gold with 14.50 points. Her teammate Shuhan Jin followed with 10.33 points to seal silver, giving China a 1-2 finish. Thailand’s Isabel added another bronze to her tally, scoring 8.10 points.
