The International 2025 (TI 14) is almost here, and the excitement in the Dota 2 world is at an all-time high. This year’s event will take place in Hamburg, Germany, and will bring together the very best teams from across the globe to fight for the famous Aegis of Champions.
TI 2025 is split into two parts the Group Stage, also called “The Road to The International,” and the Playoffs, which is simply known as “The International.” A total of sixteen teams will be competing after earning their spots through direct invites, regional qualifiers, and open qualifiers.
This guide will walk you through the schedule, format, prize pool, teams, and where you can watch all the action. Plus, we’ll share a few extra tips on what makes TI 14 special this year.
The International 2025 Schedule and Format
The tournament will run from September 4 to September 14, 2025, with the Playoffs taking place at the iconic Barclays Arena in Hamburg.
Stage 1: Group Stage (Sept 4-7)
- Swiss-system format with all matches being best-of-three.
- Top 3 teams go straight to the playoffs.
- Teams placed 4th–13th play a special elimination round.
- Only 5 more teams from this round move forward, the rest are out.
Stage 2: Playoffs (Sept 11-14)
- Double-elimination bracket.
- All matches are best-of-three except the Grand Final, which is best-of-five.
Prize Pool and Changes This Year
The base prize pool for TI 14 will start at $1.6 million USD. More money will be added through community support and special in-game content.
Last year, Valve replaced the classic Battle Pass with a paid Compendium, and it’s likely they will use something similar again. In 2024, the final prize pool reached $2,776,566 and many fans believe 2025 could break that number.
