Kolkata Knight Riders are reportedly open to offering either Angkrish Raghuvanshi or Ramandeep Singh in a possible trade deal with Rajasthan Royals for India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson. According to a report by Anandabazar Patrika, KKR are clear that both players will not be included together if a deal goes through.
KKR eye Sanju Samson in trade talks with RR
There has been plenty of speculation around Sanju Samson leaving RR, and KKR has now emerged as one of the strongest contenders for his signature. Under IPL trade rules, such moves can be structured in two ways, as an all-cash transfer or as a player swap with any remaining value balanced by cash.
Sanju Samson’s contract is worth Rs 18 crore, while Raghuvanshi and Ramandeep are valued at Rs 3 crore and Rs 4 crore respectively. This means that even if KKR include one of them in the deal, they would still need to pay Rajasthan a hefty amount in cash.

Chennai Super Kings also in contention
Chennai Super Kings are also said to be in the race for Samson. However, the report claimed that RR want one of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, or Ravindra Jadeja in return. CSK, though, are not keen to part ways with any of these key players.
Amid all the strong rumours about him wanting to leave Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson himself recently opened up about what the franchise has meant to him over the years.
“RR has meant the world to me. A small child coming from a village in Kerala, wanting to show his talent. And then Rahul (Dravid) sir and Manoj Badale sir gave me a stage to get up and show the world what I am made of,” Samson told former India spinner R Ashwin on his YouTube show.
Sanju Samson first joined Rajasthan Royals back in 2013, and if he does ask for a release ahead of this year’s IPL auction, it would bring an end to more than a decade-long association that has shaped both his career and identity as a cricketer.
