According to the reports, the bilateral cricket ties between India and Pakistan could resume this year. India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series against each other for the last decade due to the political tension between the countries. The last Test series between the two countries was witnessed in 2007 when Pakistan visited India for five ODIs.
And talking about the last bilateral series, it was way back in 2012-13 when Pakistan visited India for a limited-over series. Since the talk of the bilateral ties, India and Pakistan has not played against each other apart from ICC tournaments and Asia Cup tournaments. The last face-off between India and Pakistan was in the 2019 World Cup.
The PCB has received an indication from higher authorities that a bilateral series with India could be given a thought, says a report from Pakistan news outlet Daily Jang.
“We’ve been told to be prepared,” the Jang stated.
Jang further reported that the reports regarding the resumption of the India- Pakistan bilateral series have started doing the rounds in the Indian media as well.
As the talk of the resumption started around, the senior Executive Editor of Aaj Tak, Vikrant Gupta stated in a tweet that the resumption of IND-PAK has no chance.
“Be realistic, there isn’t any chance on resumption of India-Pakistan cricket. Zilch,” Vikrant tweeted.
