CD Projekt Red has rolled out patch 2.31 for Cyberpunk 2077, and it brings a good mix of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and system updates. Many players had raised concerns about the AutoDrive feature and certain quest bugs, and this update directly addresses them. The patch also tweaks Photo Mode and improves stability across PC and Mac.
Here’s a full breakdown of what’s new in Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.31.
Vehicle Updates
The AutoDrive system has been improved to feel more natural. Now, vehicles drive more smoothly, overtake slower cars, and won’t stop unnecessarily at traffic lights. In Free Roam mode, cars also follow traffic rules better, making driving through Night City more realistic.
Other vehicle fixes include:
- Delamain Cab now works correctly, and Johnny no longer spawns in the wrong seat.
- Applying CrystalCoat to the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru no longer makes the wheels flash in random colors.
Photo Mode Fixes
Players who love capturing Night City in Photo Mode will notice some small but important upgrades. Most of the new poses from Update 2.3 now work for all genders. NPC collision has been disabled, making it easier to place characters on cars or objects. A bug where some poses didn’t work for Royce has also been fixed.
Quests and Open World
Several quest-related issues have been solved:
- In the mission Freedom, the journal entry now updates correctly if you skip stealing the Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred.”
- Motorbreath quest has multiple fixes, including preventing the Yaiba Semimaru from flipping over during a chase and allowing the car to be obtained even if “The Hunt” quest was failed.
- Nitro (Youth Energy) no longer crashes the game after the Yaiba showroom event, and its UI now displays correctly with larger HUD settings.
These fixes make side quests and open-world interactions much smoother.
General Improvements
Patch 2.31 also introduces performance upgrades and visual fixes:
- A toggle to disable vignette is now available in settings.
- Ray-Traced Reflections now display properly under specific conditions.
- Several issues with text messages, vendors, localization, and lipsync have been corrected.
PC-Specific Fixes
- NVIDIA Reflex will now work correctly when DLSS Frame Generation is enabled.
- Path Tracing should activate properly in all scenarios.
Mac-Specific Fixes
For Mac users, stability has been a major focus:
- Graphics presets now match PC settings.
- A white screen bug during braindance sequences has been fixed.
- HDR settings, audio toggles, and App Store version crashes have all been addressed.
- General performance optimizations improve overall gameplay on Mac systems.
