Indian wicket-keeper batsman and Tamil Nadu Cricket Team’s captain, Dinesh Karthik turns 36 today, Happy birthday Dinesh Karthik. Karthik was born on 1 June 1985 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu.

In a career that has seen a lot of unforgettable moments, Karthik has seen it all. Starting from age-group cricket where he hit a series of centuries (2002-03) for Tamil Nadu in Under-19 side, his famous diving stumping of Michael Vaughan at Lord’s, the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup (2007), the Champions Trophy (2013) which India won, the Nidahas Trophy (2018).

He right-handed batsman led Kolkata Knight Riders for 2018-19 seasons where they made it to the playoffs in 2018 and just missed playoffs in 2019, finishing 5th on the points table.

Karthik’s Test debut came in November 2004 whereas his ODI debut was versus England at Lord’s, in September 2004. International T20 debut in December 2006 while he played his first match of IPL in April 2008.

With 3576 international and 152 international appearances, Karthik has come out on the brighter side every time he is put into challenging situations. In his IPL career, Karthik has played 203 matches scoring 3946 runs in total.
