Cristiano Ronaldo to Miss Al-Nassr’s AFC Champions League Two Clash Against FC Goa: Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo won’t feature for Al-Nassr in their AFC Champions League Two match against Indian Super League side FC Goa on Wednesday. Fans were hopeful of seeing him in action after he trained with the team on the eve of the game at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh, but head coach Jorge Jesus confirmed that the star forward will be rested to manage his workload.
During his press conference, Jesus made it clear: “Cristiano will not participate in Wednesday’s match. We need to protect him, and the game will be an opportunity for the players to showcase their abilities and help the team,” Jesus said.
Although the 40-year-old was included in the squad earlier, as reported by Al-Riyadiyah, he will now be given a break to stay fresh for upcoming fixtures.

Haroune Camara Expected to Step Up in Cristiano Ronaldo’s Absence
With Ronaldo sitting out, Saudi striker Haroune Camara is expected to spearhead Al-Nassr’s attack. The 27-year-old already found the back of the net in the reverse fixture, which Al-Nassr won 2-1 against Goa at the Fatorda Stadium last month.
Al-Nassr come into this game after an up-and-down week domestically. They were knocked out of the King’s Cup by Al-Ittihad but bounced back with a crucial league win over Al-Fayha, where Ronaldo scored twice to secure all three points. Even without their captain, the Riyadh-based side remains a powerhouse filled with world-class players who can turn the game on its head.
Manolo Marquez and FC Goa Ready for a Big Challenge
On the other side, FC Goa head coach Manolo Marquez is looking forward to the opportunity to face one of Asia’s top clubs. He believes matches like these are not just special for the team, but for Indian football as a whole.
As Marquez said: “It’s an honour for us to play these kinds of games not just for the players, but for all FC Goa fans and for Indian football. We’re here to compete in the best possible way against a big team like Al Nassr,” as quoted from the official ISL website.
Under the Riyadh floodlights, FC Goa will aim to mix discipline with ambition as they represent Indian football on a grand stage. The team will be hoping to put up a strong fight and make their fans proud against one of the continent’s most star-studded squads.
