Youngest Batters With 50 Plus Runs In The Women’s ODI World Cup final: Indian opener Shafali Verma made history by playing a wonderful innings of 87 against South Africa in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. This outstanding knock made her the youngest batsman to score 50+ runs in the Women’s ODI World Cup final.

Youngest Batters With 50 Plus Runs In The Women’s ODI World Cup Final

1. Shafali Verma: The New Record Holder

An innings by Shafali came after India was sent in to bat first. She, along with Smriti Mandhana, who made 45, gave India a commanding start as they stitched together a 104-run partnership.

Once she attained her half-century, Shafali was still in control and formed another important partnership of 66 runs with Jemimah Rodrigues. Her score of 87 runs off 78 balls included 7 fours and 2 sixes and was full of attacking intent before she was out.

Highest Score by an Indian in a World Cup Final

Her 87 also means Shafali is now the highest-scoring Indian batter in a Women’s ODI World Cup final, moving past the 86 scored by Poonam Raut against England in the 2017 final.

2. Jess Duffin: Second-Youngest to Shine in a Final

The other Australian cricketer standing second on the list is Jess Duffin. The 23-year-old hammered 75 off 76 balls, including 8 fours and 2 sixes, against West Indies in the 2013 World Cup final. Her knock helped Australia set a competitive 259/7, after which the Caribbean side faltered and managed only 145 runs.

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt: England’s Star Performer

England’s dynamic allrounder Nat Sciver-Brunt occupies the third position. The 24-year-old scored a vital 51 off 68 deliveries, decorated with five boundaries in the 2017 Women’s ODI World Cup final at Lord’s. Batting first, England posted 228/7 as her innings proved to be the difference with India falling short by nine runs at 219.
