Battlegrounds Mobile India is getting ready for a huge update. The BGMI 4.2 update is expected to arrive around mid-January 2026 and is being called one of the biggest updates in the game’s history. Prime Wood Genesis Mode Overview
Prime Wood Genesis is a special mode that completely changes the look and feel of the Erangel map. Nature takes over the battlefield, making the map greener, denser, and taller.
Trees, bushes, and natural cover are spread across the map, which makes movement more tactical. Players will need to think carefully before rotating or pushing enemies, as visibility is reduced in many areas.
This new design encourages players to use the environment for cover and ambushes.
The Giant Sacred Tree at the Center
One of the most eye-catching features of Prime Wood Genesis is a massive tree located near the center of the map. This area is expected to be one of the hottest drop zones.
The tree will attract early fights, and controlling this location could give teams a big advantage. At the same time, poor decisions here could lead to quick eliminations.
High-Action Event Zones in BGMI 4.2
Two popular areas on Erangel have received major changes and are now special event zones.
Pochinki Event Zone
Pochinki now has an extra castle-style structure built above the existing buildings. The old houses are still there, but new elevated platforms add vertical gameplay. This creates more angles for fights and makes building-to-building combat more intense.
Yasnaya Polyana Event Zone
Yasnaya has also been upgraded in a similar way. Old structures mix with new elevated designs, giving players multiple paths to move, hide, or attack. This makes fights more unpredictable and tactical.

The Prime Wood Genesis mode pushes players to adapt. Open-field fights become riskier, rotations need better planning, and holding strong positions becomes more important.
