The Pro Wrestling League (PWL) has kicked-off after a seven-year hiatus, bringing world’s top wrestlers back into the spotlight for its fifth season.
Scheduled from January 15 to February 1 at the Noida Indoor Stadium, Pro Wrestling League 2026 will feature six teams – Delhi Dangal Warriors, Haryana Thunders, Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal, Maharashtra Kesari, Punjab Royals and UP Dominators – competing in a league and knockout format.
A total of 15 league-stage matches will be played across 13 matchdays, with wrestling teams facing each other in a round-robin format.
The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for January 30 and 31, before the season culminates in the PWL 2026 final on February 1.
Each league tie will feature nine bouts across weight categories.
Meanwhile, PWL 2026 will be contested with a few rule adjustments. Points scored in the final minute of a bout will be counted double. A step-out will be worth two points, a takedown four and a four-point throw eight.
Technical superiority has been set at a 15-point margin and a 90-second break between the two periods has been introduced.
The final league-stage fixture will be played on January 29. Strategic rest days have been scheduled on January 22 and January 24 to aid athlete recovery.
The fifth season of the PWL will showcase elite talent. Headlining the season is Japan’s Tokyo 2020 gold medallist and four-time world champion Yui Susaki, who joined Haryana Thunders.
Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallist Aman Sehrawat will play for Tiigers of Mumbai Dangal.
World championship bronze medallist Robert Baran was one of the top men’s international signings, joining Maharashtra Kesari.
Two-time world championships bronze medallist Antim Panghal joined UP Dominators, while reigning U23 world champion Sujeet Kalkal will play for Delhi Dangal Warriors.
