Aston Martin has officially unveiled the livery for its 2026 Formula 1 challenger, the AMR26, as it enters a new technical and competitive era. The launch took place at a special event in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, home to the team’s title partner Aramco.

The AMR26, the first car designed under the legendary Adrian Newey’s leadership, carries Aston Martin’s iconic green color with a matte satin finish for the first time. The reveal follows a brief Barcelona shakedown where the car ran in bare carbon fiber due to timing constraints, offering fans only an early glimpse of its potential.

“This is a rare moment in Formula 1,” said Newey. “With brand-new regulations, the best philosophy is never immediately obvious. With the AMR26, we’ve taken a holistic approach- it’s about how the full package works together, focusing on strong fundamentals, development potential, and a car that Lance and Fernando can extract performance from consistently.”

The 2026 season introduces an all-new set of technical rules for both chassis and power units, and Aston Martin enters this reset with a restructured team and state-of-the-art facilities at Silverstone, including the newly completed AMR Technology Campus, wind tunnel, and simulator. The team also begins a works partnership with Honda, returning as Aston Martin’s exclusive engine supplier.

Driver continuity is central to the team’s approach. Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, now 45, continues alongside Lance Stroll for a fourth consecutive season. Both drivers emphasized the importance of development and consistency as they tackle the challenges of the new regulations.

“This is a very important moment for the team,” Alonso said. “We have a completed factory, a wind tunnel, Honda as our engine partner, and a new set of regulations- everything combines to make this a pivotal season. I’m proud to be part of a project that lays the foundation for the years ahead.”

Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman, echoed this ambition: “Formula 1 demands courage and rewards those willing to build something extraordinary. With our completed campus, world-class partners, and a strong team, we are approaching 2026 with clear ambition: to build a team capable of winning.”

The AMR26 has already completed an initial shakedown in Barcelona, gathering baseline data despite arriving late in the program. The car will now head to Bahrain for full pre-season testing, where Aston Martin will evaluate its performance alongside rival teams.

In addition to traditional partnerships, Aston Martin has announced a collaboration with Cognition, an AI coding company. The partnership aims to leverage autonomous software development to enhance the team’s technical operations.

Rivals have already taken note of Aston Martin’s new challenger. Mercedes’ George Russell described the car as “pretty spectacular,” while Williams’ James Vowles called it “really, really interesting.”

With a new car, a strengthened team, and an ambitious roadmap, Aston Martin is ready to take the next step in its quest for consistent front-running performance under the 2026 regulations.
