This article contains the names of three players who can replace Harshit Rana in the KKR squad for IPL 2026
The News
Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL after not being able to recover in time for this season, which is scheduled to begin from March 28.
The Injury
Rana pucked up an injury just before the start of the T20 World Cup and was replaced by Washington Sundar. Although Harshit was expected to recover in time for the nineteenth season of the Indian Premier League, reports suggest that the pacer won’t be able to attain match fitness in time, hence has been ruled out of the tean team tournament.
The Surgery
Harshit underwent a knee surgery in Feburary after being ruled out of the T20 World Cup and has been away from the game since then.
The Impact
Harshit’s unavailability is a huge blow for the three-time IPL champions, who were banking on his experience, given that the team has a very young bowling attack.
The Concern
To add to that, there is no update on the availability of Matheesha Pathirana, who is also nursing an injury.
The Options
However, there are multiple bowlers whom KKR can sign as a replacement for Harshit Rana
Let’s look at three players who can replace Harshit Rana in the KKR squad for IPL 2026
Akash Madhwal
The first of the three players who can replace Harshit Rana in the KKR squad for IPL 2026 is Akash Madhwal. The fast bowler who played for Rajasthan Royals last season went unsold in the auction and can be a good option to replace Harshit in the KKR squad for the upcoming edition. Madhwal has played 17 matches in the IPL and picked up 23 wickets.
Chetan Sakariya
Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya, who has represented India at the international stage in two T20Is and one ODI, all of which came against Sri Lanka in 2021, is another one of those players who can replace Harshit Rana.
Interestingly, Sakariya has played for KKR before, having come in as a replacement for Umran Malik last year. In total, the fast bowler has played 20 IPL matches and has picked up as many wickets.

Navdeep Saini
Navdeep Saini made headlines when he burst onto the scene around 2018-19, courtesy of his pace, which caught the attention of the then Indian captain Virat Kohli and was soon drafted into the national side. However, Saini wasn’t able to deliver consistent performances at the highest level and was soon dropped from the team.
The fast bowler has been out of reckoning since then and hasn’t featured in the IPL for the last couple of years. Having said that, Saini can also be one of the players who can replace Harshit Rana. If we talk about his numbers in the IPL, the fast bowler has played 32 matches and picked up 23 wickets.
