This article talks about three players who may not feature in a single match for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026
IPL 2026 is about to get underway with all teams looking to give it their all in an attempt to come out on the right side of the result. However, there are certain players who may not get a chance to play even a single match for their team in IPL 2026.
Mentioned below are the names of three players who may not feature in a single Match for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026
Prithvi Shaw
Team India has seen many players who were dropped after playing just one or two matches, while others made it to the squad but never received an opportunity to feature in the playing XI. One such player is Prithvi Shaw. Shaw led India to victory in the ICC Under-19 ODI World Cup in 2018. Later that same year, Prithvi Shaw was given the opportunity to make his Test debut for India against the West Indies; in his very first match, he proved his mettle by smashing a magnificent century.
The Performance
Following his Test debut, Shaw was given opportunities to debut in ODIs and subsequently in T20Is. However, after a string of mediocre performances, he was completely dropped from Team India in 2021. For India, Shaw has scored 339 runs across 9 innings in 5 Tests—including one century and two half-centuries—while his bat yielded 189 runs in 6 ODIs. Furthermore, in his solitary T20 international appearance, he failed to even open his account.
The Grind
After being dropped from Team India, Prithvi Shaw continued to play domestic cricket consistently for Mumbai; however, he struggled significantly to score runs.
The Decision
Last year, due to a slump in form, the Mumbai Cricket Association dropped Prithvi Shaw from the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad. This decision was taken in light of his poor form, fitness issues, and disciplinary lapses. At the time, an official from the Mumbai Cricket Association stated that the decision was primarily driven by his poor fitness levels; additionally, he was frequently late for practice sessions—an issue that had drawn complaints from several senior players.
The Comeback
However, following the escalation of this controversy, Shaw left the Mumbai team and was subsequently seen playing for Maharashtra in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy. He also represented the same team in the Vijay Hazare and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tournaments. Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals franchise has once again reposed its faith in their former player, selecting him for the 2026 IPL season.

Karun Nair
Karun Nair, one of the two triple centurions for India in Test cricket, played a match in the IPL for the first time since the 2022 season.
The Form
He played an innings of 89 runs and contributed significantly in an effort to lead Delhi to victory against Mumbai. However, his innings ultimately failed to secure a win for the team.
The Dip
Following this, his performance took a hit both in IPL and at the international stage, where he made a comeback into the team for the first time after 2017 on India’s tour of England, and that is the reason why he is among the players who may not feature in a single game for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
Kyle Jameison
Yet another overseas cricketer has snubbed the Pakistan Super League to make an entry into the IPL. Kyle Jamieson has experience of 13 matches in the IPL.
He played these matches for the Royal Challengers Bangaluru and the Punjab Kings. In those games, he claimed 14 wickets. As for his overall T20 experience, he has claimed 113 wickets across a total of 102 matches. However, with only four overseas slots available, Jamieson is one of the players who may not feature in a single game for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
