Rajasthan Royals continued their strong start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with a thrilling 6-run win over Gujarat Titans, making it two wins in a row. The Royals’ success was due in large part to Dhruv Jurel, who scored a remarkable 75 runs, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who added a half-century to set up their success.
In contrast, the Gujarat Titans did not receive enough support from their batting lineup despite Sai Sudharsan’s strong performance of 73 runs from 44 balls.
Jos Buttler contributed 26 runs from 14 balls, while Rashid Khan (24 runs from 16 balls) and Kagiso Rabada contributed 23 runs from 16 balls, however there was not enough support to get the Titans to the target.
The first game of the IPL 2026 season kicked off at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru (Bangalore) and saw the reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SH). Since then, 8 other games have been played.
The key player in the victory for Rajasthan Royals was Ravi Bishnoi, who took 4 wickets for 41 runs. Tushar Deshpande was instrumental in the last over by successfully defending 11 runs while also having finished with figures of 1/24.
Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger both bowled effectively as well with some excellent discipline and kept the run rate within range as well.
