Former India skipper and Mumbai Indians star Rohit Sharma has once again grabbed attention, this time with his appearance in a promotional ad for an upcoming television show. At present, Rohit is representing the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, where his campaign has been fairly average so far. The five-time champions have struggled to find consistency this season, and their chances of reaching the playoffs now look extremely slim.
Ever since making his IPL debut in 2008, Rohit has often become a fan favourite not only for his performances on the field but also for his entertaining personality. From his humorous stump-mic moments to his sharp and relaxed interactions with the media, the veteran batter continues to remain one of the most talked-about figures in Indian cricket.
Rohit Sharma During shoot
The One minute Forty seconds Viral Clip of Rohit Sharma where his fans urge him to say” Koi bhi Garden me nahi ghumega “ , asked him to repeat the line during teaser launch. But, later on Rohit left the stage. At some point Rohit Sharma got frustrated with the teaser and he called his assistant and asked him to stop the shoot.
The promotional clip was shared on social media by both Rohit Sharma and the OTT platform Sony LIV, creating plenty of curiosity among fans. However, the makers have not yet revealed the name of the show or what format it will follow.
Rohit and Dhawan
If Rohit does step in as a host, it would mark a rare moment for Indian cricket, especially in the Hindi entertainment space. While former India captain Sourav Ganguly previously hosted a popular quiz show, 1983 World Cup-winning cricketer Sandeep Patil also appeared as a host on a cooking-based programme featuring celebrity guests. OTT platform, recently launched a cricket-themed show titled Cricket Darbaar with former India opener Shikhar Dhawan as the host. The series features Dhawan interacting with live audiences while taking part in fun challenges and conversations alongside celebrity guests.
Rohit Sharma’s IPL 2026 campaign
Rohit began IPL 2026 as one of Mumbai Indians’ key players, but injuries interrupted his rhythm midway through the season. The veteran opener missed a few games after suffering a toe injury during MI’s fourth match, and a hamstring issue further delayed his comeback.
So far, Rohit has featured in five of Mumbai’s 10 matches and has impressed whenever he has been available. He has scored 221 runs at an average above 55 while maintaining a strike rate of 174. The right-hander has also registered two half-centuries, with both knocks crossing the 75-run mark and coming in successful run chases of targets exceeding 220.
