Patel played a fantastic innings in IPL 2026, hitting a large number of fours and sixes, and scored 50 runs (half century) with just 13 balls faced, thus equaling Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record for fastest half century in the IPL.

As soon as Urvil Patel got off the bench and stepped onto the field against the Lucknow Super Giants, he started a flurry of runs through the bowlers and his first five shots went right into the stands.

Urvil hit his half-century off just 13 balls, giving him the honour of being the second-fastest batsman to reach 50 runs in the history of the IPL, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal.

In addition to taking this record for Chennai Super Kings, Urvil Patel will also hold the record for the fastest half-century for his team previously, that record had been held by Suresh Raina (who scored off only 16 balls against the Punjab Kings in 2014).

Additionally, Urvil Patel smashed 41 runs off his very first 8 balls the highest score ever recorded by any batsman in IPL history within that specific number of deliveries.
