The thrilling IPL match between DC vs PBKS ended with DC winning by 3 wickets after chasing down a massive score of 211 after only 1 over (19 overs). This has marked PBKS’s 4th consecutive defeat in this year’s IPL, and their inability to bowl has been compounded by a horrible last over bowled by Yash Thakur where he gave up 22 runs.

One of the highlights of the match was Auqib Nabi hitting the winning runs for DC, and having earned their first 10 points in the tournament, DC are still in contention to qualify for the playoffs of this year’s IPL.

Punjab Kings batted first and had a really good start with an explosive batting performance by Priyansh Arya. Priyansh was aggressive from ball one and scored a half-century in a remarkable 24 balls.

Shreyas Iyer Anchors PBKS Innings

Shreyas Iyer was the ideal captain, playing a match-winning knock under pressure by striking the ball between time and power.

Key Players:

Priyansh Arya: Explosive 50

Suryansh Shedge: Rapid cameo at the end

However, Delhi Capitals staged a strong fightback towards the end.

DC vs PBKS: Delhi Capitals’ Chase Full of Twists

Delhi Capitals had a shaky beginning during the chase. The Punjab Kings fast bowlers made early gains with Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur taking wickets in quick succession.

Early Wickets:

1. KL Rahul got out due to Arshdeep Singh

2. Sahil Parakh got out for a small score

3. Tristan Stubbs was stumped after a mix up

At one point, DC seemed out of the race.

Axar Patel and David Miller Turn the Match Around

David Miller and Captain Axar Patel turned the game on its head by launching a savage counter assault. Both players provided the impetus necessary for their team to complete one of the best run chases in IPL history.

Captain Axar Patel was superb, not only batting composedly for 28 balls, but also scoring a phenomenal 50 runs, which gave DC a real chance at winning the game.

Axar Patel Highlights:

50 in 28 balls

Three consecutive boundaries against Stoinis

Massive sixes under pressure

David Miller Finishes Strong

Finishing off the match with a flourish, Foster propelled the ball over the fence and scored fifty runs off of just twenty-seven balls. Though not scoring again after that point, the shift in energy and momentum had already gone to the Delhi Capitals.

Yash Thakur’s Expensive Over Costs PBKS Dearly

The match took a turn for the worse during 19th over when Yash Thakur allowed 22 runs during an over, and DC Batters took advantage of his lack of execution and had no issues finishing the game once they got to that point. After that, Auqib Nabi finished the game with a massive six.
