Indian football and ISL is once again facing serious questions about its financial stability after multiple reports suggested that several clubs across the country are struggling with operational and salary related issues. Concerns have grown even bigger following reports that Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC are considering shutting down operations.

While there has been no official confirmation from either club, the reports have sparked major discussions among fans because both teams have been important parts of the Indian Super League for years. Kerala Blasters remain one of the most heavily supported football clubs in the country, while Chennaiyin FC are former ISL champions with a strong presence in Indian football.

Multiple ISL clubs reportedly dealing with salary and operational issue

The concerns surrounding those clubs come at a time when several other teams are already dealing with financial difficulties. Reports from the Times of India claim that players at Inter Kashi FC have threatened to boycott their remaining ISL matches because of unpaid salaries. According to the report, players allegedly received only one month’s salary over the last four months.

Inter Kashi’s situation appears to have become even more complicated due to ongoing legal and administrative issues linked to their promotion to the ISL. The club has also reportedly been forced to play home matches away from Varanasi while their stadium remains under construction.

Financial trouble has also reportedly affected Mohammedan SC. The Kolkata based club has already faced FIFA transfer bans in recent months because of unpaid dues involving former players and staff. Reports now suggest players had recently boycotted training sessions over delayed salaries before agreeing to continue after assurances from management.

Meanwhile, concerns have also surfaced around Diamond Harbour FC and several other clubs across the Indian football pyramid. Although details remain limited, reports of delayed payments and financial instability have once again highlighted the fragile state of club football in the country.

Indian football has made visible progress in popularity over the last decade, especially through the ISL era, but these latest reports show that major structural and financial challenges still remain behind the scenes. Fans and players alike will now hope clubs can find stability before the situation worsens further.
