Oliver Peake has made his ODI debut for Australia at just 19 years and 261 days old, and in doing so, he has joined some pretty big names in the record books.
Peake is now the fourth youngest Australian to make an ODI debut, slotting in just behind Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood two of the best pace bowlers Australia has produced in recent times.

| Age at Debut | Player | Year |
| 18Y 164D | Pat Cummins | 2011 |

| 19Y 261D | Oliver Peake | 2026 |
| 19Y 267D | Craig McDermott | 1985 |
The names around Peake on that list tell you everything. Cummins is Australia’s Test captain and one of the best fast bowlers in the world. Hazlewood has been a mainstay in all three formats for over a decade. McDermott is a legend of Australian cricket.

Peake is just 19 and he is already in that company. It is early days, of course, but the fact that Australia have handed him a debut at this age says a lot about how they see him.
Ray Bright made his debut in 1974, so Peake is also the youngest Australian to debut in ODIs in over 50 years.
One debut does not make a career, but this is a start that not many get. Let’s see where he takes it from here.
