IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals announced player replacements for UAE leg

Chaos and excitement among fans as they wait for the return of the Indian Premier League. All preparations are underway as the second phase of the Indian Premier League is round the corner. 

Every other franchise is currently busy with travel plans, COVID- 19 protocols, quarantine rules and tons of training. Some of them have even announced player replacements for the UAE leg of this exciting cricket tournament. 

Rajasthan Royals ropes in West Indies opening batter Evin Lewis and fast bowler Oshane Thomas as replacements for Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes.

This will be Evin Lewis’ first IPL tournament with the Rajasthan Royals team. Thomas will be part of the franchise for a second time.

Jos Buttler has decided to opt out of the Indian Premier League as he awaits the birth of his second child. Ben Stokes has taken an indefinite break from the game for mental-health reasons.

Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals are placed 5th in the IPL 2021 standings. It will be interesting to see how they go in phase 2 of the league.  

The Rajasthan Royals begin their IPL campaign against the Punjab Kings on September 21 at the Dubai International Stadium.

Today the Rajasthan Royals reached Mumbai and will travel to the UAE from there.
