David Moyes has come a long way since the start of last season. He was one of the favorite managers to get sacked at the start of the 20/21 season.

West Ham United had lost two successive games and was dangling in the relegation spot this time last year.

However, Moyes turned the club’s fortune around and helped the club to a Europa League finish.

At one point in time, Champions League football looked like a possibility. They missed out on the top four spots by a mere two points.

David Moyes on change in supporters

West Ham is a historic club with huge potential. They also have a history of producing quality youth players and they built a 60000 seater stadium a few years back. But few would have predicted just how close they would get to realizing that potential under Moyes.

David Moyes feels the fans have changed too.

“The supporters themselves have changed at West Ham over the last 18 months. The support we have had in the games has been incredible. In Zagreb it was great. It’s great they are chanting my name, but I see a change in them as well.”

He says that he is seeing an upbeat West Ham crowd at games.

Moyes has a clear ambition with the club. He has set his sights on Champions League football next season.

After arriving late from Zagreb, Moyes was asked about potential fatigue in the Super Sunday clash with Manchester United, live on Sky Sports Premier League, Moyes said:

“Manchester United played Tuesday, so they have got a Tuesday-Sunday game, we have got a Thursday-Sunday game, it does not quite add up. But if we can make the Champions League, then we might have the advantage in that fixture!. So the next target is to make the Champions League so that we get a slightly better run of fixtures.”

said the West Ham manager.
