Spain takes on France in the UEFA Nations League final.
Spain beat Italy in the semi-finals which was a replay of the same fixture in Euro 2020. Meanwhile, France overcame Belgium in the semi-final at the last minute as Theo Hernandez rescued them with a late goal.
Luis Enrique is building a talented squad that is one for the future. The former Barcelona coach has been fearless in the decisions he has made. He has started a seventeen-year-old Gavi against the European Champions and the Barcelona youngster did not disappoint his manager. However, in France, they face a stern test as France themselves have a very talented squad in which most of the players are either in their prime or getting into their prime. It will be a huge experience for the Spanish youngsters.
The two sides met last in 2017 in a friendly match which ended 2-0 in Spain’s favor. That Spanish squad boasted the likes of David Silva and Andres Iniesta and Julen Loptegui’s men were flying high. Much has changed in Spanish football both at the international level and in domestic scenes as that golden generation has faded away. Sergio Busquets is the only remanent of that era.
Since that 2-0 defeat, France went on to win the world cup. Meanwhile, Spain has been on a rebuilding process under Luis Enrique. Despite the inexperience in the squad Spain performed well in the Euro 2020, reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

Ferran Torres could possibly start from the bench after suffering a knock against Italy in the previous match.
Luis Enrique being cautious said,
“I’m not sure how Ferran will be. He had a knock in the first half and another in the second half so we decided to take no risks.”
Meanwhile, Lucas Digne is the only absentee for France, as the Everton full-back withdrew from the squad after suffering a muscle problem.
