Indian Men’s Hockey team departs for Argentina to play FIH Pro League matches

The Indian Men’s Hockey team departed for Buenos Aires on Wednesday, March 31. The team will be facing Olympic champions Argentina in the upcoming FIH Pro league matches on April 11 and 12.

Hockey India, taking to tweeter, tweeted pictures of players and support staffs, “Next stop, Argentina! Send in all your wishes for #TeamIndia in the comments section!” Ahead of the D-day, India team will playing two warm-up matches against the home team on April 6 and 7 followed by two more practice matches on April 13 and 14 as part of their preparations for Tokyo Olympics.

Three players, Manpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh and Varun Kumar, who opted out during the recent Europe tour due to their own reasons, will also be back in the mix for India.

The 22 member squad will constitute of, P R Sreejesh, Krishan Bahadur Pathak, Amit Rohidas, Gurinder Singh, Harmanpreet Singh (vc), Surender Kumar, Rupinderpal Singh, Varun Kumar, Birendra Lakra, Jaskaran Singh, Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh (c), Vivek Sagar Prasad, Raj Kumar Pal, Sumit, Nilakanta Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Gurjant Singh, Dilpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Shilanand Lakra.
