The sportswear firm Nike has announced on Monday that it is no longer sponsoring Mason Greenwood as he was on police bail after being questioned on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman. The deal was suspended initially but Nike on Monday announced that it no longer sponsors Greenwood. The brand said that it was “deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations.”
United has said that Greenwood will not be playing or practising with the club until further notice.

Last Wednesday, the Greater Manchester Police said that Greenwood was “released on bail pending further investigation.”
