Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez will be joining the Premier League side Liverpool this season after a verbal agreement between the clubs reached this evening. As per reliable Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have reached a verbal agreement in principle to sign their striker Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool wanted a forward as one of their forwards named Sadio Mane decided to leave the club this summer. Bayern Munich are already negotiating with the Premier League side (Liverpool) to sign Sadio Mane. As per reports, the Reds have also rejected two bids from Bayern for him. Darwin can play as a striker and as a left-winger. Jurgen Klopp needed a striker and it seems they wouldn’t have got a better striker than this 22-year old Uruguayan.
“Liverpool are now closing on Darwin Núñez deal, here we go! Meeting in the morning with verbal agreement in place between Liverpool & Benfica, just waiting to sign. €80m plus €20m add ons fee. Liverpool are preparing paperworks. Five year contract, already agreed,” Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Saturday.
The 22-year old striker had a great record last season as he scored 33 goals in 41 games and also recorded 4 assists with the Portuguese club Benfica.
