Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev has made a big statement on Indian cricket team’s captain Rohit Sharma. Kapil Dev feels Rohit Sharma’s rough patch is not normal. The legend thinks Rohit should be thinking of how he can regain his form back. Kapil Dev isn’t happy with Rohit Sharma as he thinks if a batter can’t score a single half-century in 14 matches, then the fans and ex-cricketers will raise questions on him.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both batters weren’t in a good form in this year’s IPL. However, former Indian captian Virat Kohli scored two half centuries in IPL 2022 but Rohit didn’t even score a single despite playing all the matches. Rohit Sharma’s rough patch can also be the reason for Mumbai Indians’ failure in IPL 2022. The team (Mumbai Indians) finished 10th in the points table.
“The player (Rohit Sharma) is brilliant, no question about that. But if you don’t score a fifty in 14 matches, questions will be raised,” said Kapil Dev on skipper Rohit Sharma as reported by India Today.
Rohit Sharma scored only 268 runs in the IPL 2022 at an average of just 19.14. Indian skipper didn’t have a great strike rate this year (120.17).
