English and Hindi commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has tweeted the actual meaning of ‘Bazball’ according to him on Thursday. The particular term ‘Bazball’ is quite trending on twitter after England beat India by 7 wickets in the last Test match of the series at Edgbaston on 5th July. England skipper Ben Stokes used this term in his post-match interview as well.
He thinks what Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow did in the second innings against Indian bowlers while chasing down the huge target of 378 runs was called the game of ‘Bazball’. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow scored centuries in the second innings to help their team (England) register their biggest ever run-chase in the Test cricket. It was also the highest-run chase by any cricket team against India.
In the post-match interview English skipper Ben Stokes said he wanted India to go past 450 runs in the second innings as he wanted to see whether England batters can chased it down as well. Hindi and English commentator Sanjay Manjrekar thinks what Rishabh Pant has been playing in Test matches is called ‘Bazball’. Rishabh Pant play every format as T20I and did in the last game as well against England. Thus he (Sanjay Manjrekar) thinks this is what is called Bazball.
“So what’s Bazball? Well, it’s how Rishabh Pant has been playing in his last 31 Tests,” tweeted Sanjay Manjrekar.
