Indian cricket team will play three ODIs against West Indies starting from 22nd July, Friday. After the ODIs Indian team will also play 5 T20Is against them. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer tweeted on Thursday, 21st July on who should open with Shikhar Dhawan in this ODI series against West Indies.

India is on a short tour at West Indies and Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain for the ODI series. Wasim Jaffer feels Ruturaj Gaikwad can be one of the prominent options in the opening for Indian team in this ODI series. Wasim also praised Ruturaj as he feels he has done well in the past, especially in the Vijay Hazare trophy. Ruturaj recorded 4 centuries in this tournament and was one of the best players playing in the tournament.

“I think Ruturaj should make his ODI debut and open with Shikhar in the WI series. Ruturaj scored 4 tons in 5 inns in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, deserves a look in. Also left-right combo stays,” tweeted Wasim Jaffer ahead of the first ODI match between India and West Indies on his official Twitter handle.
