Suraj Vashisht, U-17 World Championship Gold Medal for India: Suraj Vashisht, a young wrestler from India, made history at the U-17 World Championship. He won gold in the 55 kg weight class in wrestling. In the final, Suraj defeated Farim Mustafayev of Azerbaijan 11-0. What matters is that Suraj is the third Indian Greco-Roman wrestler to win a gold medal in this event. Pappu Yadav already won the gold medal for the country 32 years ago.

Sooraj’s Under 17 Wrestling Championship victory is remarkable. After 32 years in this event, he has brought home a gold medal for his country. Pappu had previously claimed gold in 1990. This was the tournament’s third gold medal. Vinod Kumar won gold for India before Pappu in 1980. When it comes to Sooraj’s match, he got off to a fast start. He then continued to press the Azerbaijani wrestler throughout the match.

Many people have congratulated him on the triumph of Sooraj, a young wrestler. Bajrang Punia, an Indian wrestler, praised Sooraj on social media. He posted Suraj’s photo with the caption, “Sooraj made history.” After 32 years, the country finally received a gold medal at the U17 World Championship.
