Reflecting on Virat Kohli’s sensational innings in the third ODI, Ajay Jadeja said, “I mean that’s the key to Indian cricket. I mean it’s been that for a while, for a long time. I mean there was a period where Virat Kohli would score runs and if there was anything, MS Dhoni would finish it off at the end.

Jadeja further explained how Virat Kohli understands the pace of the game and, although King Kohli has not been quite in form lately, the solidity he provides to the game, allows the men in blue to play the game at a whole different level.

Responding to the ongoing debates and criticism about Virat Kohli’s unstable striking rate, Jadeja replied “Kohli might not have the striking ability that a lot of players around the world and in the Indian team might have, but one thing that I can assure you is, there is no one else that I know who has the same consistency of Virat Kohli in the game.”

The ultimate run-chaser has ruled the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium once again after five long years. Kohli smashed a double ton during a test match in 2017 at the same venue.
