Suryakumar Yadav is a special spectacle to watch when he’s blazing. Just like Jasprit Bumrah did in 2016, he has proven his worth in the very first year of his international career. The 32-year-old batter is Number 2 in the ICC Player Rankings for T20Is. Before Surya’s arrival, the Indian team has been feared for the sublime top three, which include KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. However, Surya has become the fourth pillar of the Indian Team with his fearless approach to batting.

As former Indian coach, Ravi Shastri said, the Mumbai-born cricketer is easy to watch for the eyes. He plays all around the ground and scores runs at a brisk pace. Surya has one of the best strike rates in international cricket. He strikes the ball at 177.7 per 100 balls, making him a destructive batter.

Suryakumar Yadav makes batting look easy

After a couple of low scores, the Indian batter smashed his way to a 36-ball-69 versus Australia in the third T20I in Hyderabad. Surya also set a match-winning partnership with Indian superstar Virat Kohli to guide the team to a 2-1 series win against Aaron Finch and Co.

In bowling-friendly conditions, where the majority of batters struggled, SKY made light of the South African bowling. He raced to an aggressive fifty in Thiruvananthapuram. Interestingly, Surya was the only batter who could play to his proper style in the match, while the remaining batters had to adjust their technique to adapt to the conditions. That knock outlined his fearless approach and destructing play when he is on fire.

Surya is dangerous when he is on fire

The Indian batter played a solid attacking knock, smashing 61 off just 22 balls in the second T20I against South Africa in Guwahati. He was unfortunately run out. And the relaxed look on South African players proved why he is dangerous when he’s in beast mode.

Surya has bigger challenges in October as India prepares for the T20 World Cup. However, SKY is certainly his limit. He’ll hope to just continue from where he stopped for his new assignment.
